A Career Choice Inspired by Personal Experience
Betsy Donnelly’s decision to become an educational consultant was founded on her personal experience in searching for the appropriate academic environment for her two adolescent children. As a parent who struggled with making educational choices, her empathy and genuine compassion, along with her in-depth knowledge of educational processes have made her a unique resource for families.
A Life-long Learner Committed to Helping Young People
Betsy started her academic career at The University of Virginia studying both the German and French languages, graduating with a B.A. in German Language and Literature. After 15 years as a “stay-at-home” mom, she attended graduate school at Georgia State University, to earn an M.S. in Educational Psychology. Betsy has spent much of her adult life mentoring adolescents both in the local community and through her church. She served as a graduate-level researcher studying reading strategies in inner-city Atlanta middle schools.
My own family’s experiences have provided me with personal insight into the struggles that many families face with the education of their children. As an educational consultant, I’m dedicated to giving my clients the support and information they need to choose the educational setting that best fits their student’s academic, social, and emotional needs, wherever they are in their lives.
First-hand Knowledge and In-depth Involvement
Since founding Atlanta Educational Consultants in 2004, she continues to travel extensively throughout the U.S. to gain first-hand knowledge of colleges, traditional and therapeutic boarding schools, schools for children with learning differences, and wilderness therapy and residential treatment programs. Betsy continues her education through Master Classes, Webinars, and attendance at regional and national conferences.
